
ALABAMA — One person is dead after a vehicle hydroplaned and entered Shoal Creek near the Shoal Creek Bridge in Lauderdale County on Wednesday, according to authorities.
Deputies received a 911 call around 7 a.m. reporting that a vehicle had hydroplaned, traveled down an embankment next to the bridge, and entered the water.
Emergency responders, including rescue boats and a dive team, were dispatched to the scene. Officials said the dive team located the individual inside the vehicle after entering the creek.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Florence Police Department, Florence Dive Team, Killen Police Department, and Killen Volunteer Fire Department.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Authorities have not provided additional details at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
