FLORIDA — An 80-year-old Tampa man died Monday night after losing control of his pickup truck and crashing off State Road 60, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 8:50 p.m. just west of Kelsey Lane.
Authorities said the man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on SR-60 when the truck drifted off the roadway, struck a road sign and crashed into a ditch.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, where he later died, according to FHP.
No additional information was immediately released. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
