FLORIDA — A Bradenton man was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a truck while attempting to repair a bicycle on State Road 70, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on June 5 east of 5th Street West.
Troopers said a Ram 5500 truck driven by a 59-year-old Dover man was traveling east in the inside lane of SR-70 when it approached a 30-year-old Bradenton man who was stopped in the inside eastbound lane attempting to fix his bicycle.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the front of the truck struck the bicyclist.
The Bradenton man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The truck driver was not injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
