FLORIDA — A 13-year-old boy died Wednesday night after an electric scooter crash involving a pickup truck in Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers identified the teen as Colton Remsburg. Investigators said the crash happened Sunday near the intersection of Savannah Pines Drive and Moss Park Road in the South Lake Nona area near State Road 417.
According to FHP, a pickup truck was traveling east on Moss Park Road when the teen attempted to cross the street on an electric scooter in front of a Methodist church and was struck.
The 35-year-old pickup driver remained at the scene and rendered aid, troopers said. The driver was not injured.
FHP said the case has been reassigned to traffic homicide investigators following the teen’s death. It remains unclear whether any charges will be filed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
