One person arrested for DUI following deadly motorcycle crash in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — The driver involved in a crash that left a motorcyclist dead Wednesday evening has been charged with felony DUI involving death, according to authorities.

Officials said Bre-anna Allece Bigby has been charged in connection with the crash and is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway School Road and Cox Lane Road in Belton. Troopers said a motorcycle collided with a car while crossing the intersection.

The motorcyclist, identified as Cody Monroe Williams, 33, of Belton, was transported to a hospital, where he later died from multiple traumatic injuries, according to the coroner. Officials said Williams was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car was also taken to a hospital with injuries. The extent of those injuries has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
