OHIO — A Huntsville man was arrested late Wednesday night on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence following an investigation by the Bellefontaine Police Department.

According to police, officers were on patrol just after 11 p.m. in the area of North Madriver Street and Irving Avenue when they noticed a woman standing on a street corner who appeared upset and was talking on the phone.

While checking on her, officers observed a blue Honda SUV drive through the area, briefly interact with the woman, and then leave before returning a short time later.

The vehicle later stopped near a hospital, where officers made contact with the driver, identified as 46-year-old David Moore, along with two female passengers.

Police said Moore showed signs of impairment during the interaction, including slurred speech and confusion, and had difficulty completing field sobriety tests.

Moore was arrested and taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department. Authorities said a breath test did not indicate impairment, and a urine sample was collected for further analysis. A Drug Recognition Expert was also called to assist in the investigation.

Moore was later transported to the Logan County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence.
