ALABAMA — A man is in custody after deputies say he led law enforcement on a vehicle pursuit across Huntsville roadways Tuesday evening.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were attempting to serve a Protection from Abuse order on Luis Fransico Collazo Medina, 43, when he allegedly displayed a firearm and fled, prompting a pursuit.
Authorities said the chase traveled through Patton Road, Drake Avenue and Memorial Parkway. During the response, a deputy was involved in a minor crash with another unit while assisting with traffic control. No injuries were reported.
Investigators said the pursuit ended when the suspect wrecked his vehicle, after which he was taken into custody.
The Huntsville Police Department responded to the scene and completed a traffic accident report.
Medina faces multiple charges, including attempting to elude a police officer, obstructing a court order and third-degree domestic violence assault. Officials said his bond totals tens of thousands of dollars.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
