One person arrested following large drug bust in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — Louisville Metro Police officers carried out a major drug and gun bust that led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man, according to authorities.

Police said First Division Squad 1 officers seized a large amount of cash, drugs and firearms during a recent operation, which was initiated following multiple community tips.

Dwight Woodley was arrested in connection with the investigation.

Authorities said the seizure included cash, stolen firearms, synthetic drugs, fentanyl, methamphetamine packaged for sale and a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia.

Woodley faces multiple charges, including being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, receiving a stolen firearm, trafficking in fentanyl and methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana and synthetic drugs, using restricted ammunition during a felony and possession of cocaine and other controlled substances.

According to police, Woodley was arraigned April 18 and entered a not guilty plea. He is currently being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
