NORTH CAROLINA — A North Carolina mother is facing kidnapping charges after authorities said she abducted her one-year-old child and was later found across state lines in Tennessee.

According to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home on Old Mars Hill Highway in Buncombe County after receiving a report of a parental abduction involving a one-year-old child.

Investigators said a Be On the Look Out alert, commonly known as a BOLO, was quickly issued following the report.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee later located the mother and child safely and took the woman into custody.

Authorities identified the woman as 25-year-old Ambriel Grace Ruth Wilson. She has been charged with abduction of a child and first-degree kidnapping.

Officials said the child was found safe.

Wilson is currently being held in Greene County, Tennessee, while awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
