WISCONSIN — A review of available 2025-26 Wisconsin public school calendars shows most districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes in June 2026, but several districts currently plan to conclude the school year during May.
Among the districts with May ending dates is Deerfield Community School District, which lists May 27, 2026 as the last day for middle school students and May 28, 2026 as the final day for early childhood and 4K students.
The review also found several Wisconsin districts posting calendars that indicate school years ending before or near Memorial Day weekend, although some exact dates were only visible within downloadable calendar documents. DeForest Area School District has a published 2025-26 academic calendar showing the school year structure and final weeks of the term.
Most larger Wisconsin districts reviewed, however, currently extend classes into June 2026.
In Milwaukee, Milwaukee Public Schools lists June 15, 2026 as the last day of school for students, with emergency makeup days scheduled June 17 and June 18 if needed.
In Dane County, Madison Metropolitan School District currently lists June 10, 2026 as the last day of school and end of the fourth quarter and second semester.
Wauwatosa School District is also scheduled to conclude classes on June 11, 2026, according to the district’s 2025-26 school year calendar.
In the Verona area, Verona Area School District currently lists June 11, 2026 as the final student day, with an early dismissal planned.
The review found Green Bay Area Public School District continuing into early June as well. The district calendar lists June 3, 2026 as the last day of school for most students, while some Head Start programs end earlier.
Wisconsin school calendars can change because of snow days, emergency closures or future school board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Wisconsin school district.
