OKLAHOMA — A review of available 2025-26 Oklahoma public school calendars shows many districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes during May 2026, with several ending before Memorial Day.
Among the earliest May ending dates found was May 13, 2026, listed by Oklahoma Union Public Schools in Rogers County as the final day of school for students. Teacher in-service is scheduled for May 14.
Several Oklahoma districts are currently scheduled to conclude classes on May 19, 2026. Sapulpa Public Schools lists May 19 as the “last day of school for students,” pending no additional weather make-up days. Teachers finish May 20.
In the Oklahoma City metro area, Valley Brook Public Schools lists May 20, 2026 as the last day of school for students, followed by a professional development day on May 21.
Several districts plan to end the school year on May 21, 2026. Miami Public Schools lists May 21 as the last day of school and May 22 as a teacher work day.
Oklahoma City Public Schools is also currently scheduled to conclude classes on May 21, 2026, according to district calendar summaries reviewed online.
In northwest Oklahoma County, Deer Creek School District lists May 21, 2026 as the last day of school, with May 22 designated as teacher record day. The district calendar also includes possible inclement weather make-up days after Memorial Day if needed.
One of the later May endings found in the review was Tulsa Public Schools, which approved a calendar showing the 2025-26 school year ending on May 27, 2026.
Many Oklahoma districts continue using four-day school weeks or modified calendars, although a recently approved state law will require additional in-person instructional days beginning in the 2027-28 school year if state funding benchmarks are met.
Oklahoma school calendars can change because of weather-related closures, state requirements or future school board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Oklahoma school district.
