
LOUISIANA — A review of available 2025-26 Louisiana public school calendars shows many districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes during May 2026, with several ending before Memorial Day.
Among the earliest May ending dates found was May 20, 2026, listed by Allen Parish School District as the final day for students. The district calendar shows teachers’ last day on May 21.
In Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish School System currently lists May 21, 2026 as the last day of school for students, while graduating seniors finish May 20.
Several Louisiana districts are also scheduled to conclude classes on May 21, 2026. St. Tammany Parish Public Schools announced students will finish the year with a half-day on May 21.
The review also found St. Mary Parish School Board listing May 22, 2026 as the final day of the fourth nine weeks and last instructional day for students. Report cards are scheduled for pickup May 26.
In southeast Louisiana, St. Bernard Parish Public Schools lists May 21, 2026 as the last day for students, followed by records and staff work days on May 22.
Some Louisiana charter and redesign school systems continue later into the spring. A published redesign schools calendar lists June 5, 2026 as the final day for students.
Many Louisiana districts begin classes in early August, allowing students to complete the academic year before Memorial Day weekend. District calendars can still change because of hurricane closures, emergency make-up days or future school board revisions.
