MICHIGAN — A review of available 2025-26 Michigan public school calendars shows most districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes in June 2026, but several districts currently plan to conclude the school year during May.

Among the districts with May ending dates is Livonia Public Schools, whose district calendar indicates the school year concludes before Memorial Day weekend, with calendar materials posted through its district calendar system.

The review also found Royal Oak Schools releasing a 2025-26 calendar that includes a final day of classes in May 2026, according to a district announcement summarizing key dates for the school year.

In Wayne County, districts operating under the countywide common calendar framework often finish near the end of May, depending on local additions for professional development or weather make-up days. The Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency publishes a coordinated five-year calendar used by many districts in the county.

Many Michigan districts, however, are currently scheduled to continue classes into June. Grand Rapids Public Schools lists June 3, 2026 as the last day of school, following half-day exams on June 1 and June 2.

In Oakland County, Birmingham Public Schools currently lists June 12, 2026 as the final day of school on its district calendar page.

Bloomfield Hills Schools is also scheduled to continue into mid-June, with the district calendar showing June 15, 2026 as the final day of school.

Michigan school calendars can change because of weather-related closures, emergency make-up days or future school board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Michigan school district.
