PENNSYLVANIA — A review of available 2025-26 Pennsylvania public school calendars shows most districts across the Commonwealth are scheduled to finish classes in June 2026, but several districts currently plan to conclude the school year during May.
Among the districts with May ending dates is North Hills School District, which announced the 2025-26 school year will begin Aug. 20, 2025 and end on May 29, 2026. The district calendar also includes a full week for spring break in late March and early April.
In Lancaster County, School District of Lancaster approved a calendar showing May 29, 2026 as the last day of school “barring snow days,” according to a district announcement.
Most Pennsylvania districts reviewed, however, currently extend into June. School District of Philadelphia lists its final student day as June 12, 2026 on calendar summaries reviewed online.
In Dauphin County, Derry Township School District currently lists June 4, 2026 as the last day of school, with graduation scheduled the day before.
State College Area School District also plans to conclude classes on June 5, 2026, according to its published academic calendar.
In the Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem Area School District lists June 5, 2026 as the last day of school for elementary and middle school students.
Additional districts reviewed — including Norristown Area School District, Allentown School District, Reading School District, Chambersburg Area School District and Tuscarora School District — have approved 2025-26 calendars posted online, though final student dates were not clearly visible in search previews reviewed.
Pennsylvania school calendars can change because of snow make-up days, emergency closures or future school board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Pennsylvania school district.
