ARKANSAS — A review of available 2025-26 Arkansas public school calendars shows many districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes during May 2026, with several ending before Memorial Day.
Among the earliest May ending dates found was May 20, 2026, listed by Arkansas Elementary School in Aurora Public Schools for preschool students, while grades K-12 finish on May 21.
Several Arkansas districts are scheduled to conclude classes on May 21, 2026. Fort Smith Public Schools lists May 21 as the official last day of school, followed by a collaboration day for staff on May 22.
The review also found South Conway County School District in Morrilton scheduled to end classes on May 22, 2026. The district calendar includes built-in snow make-up days later in May if needed.
In Northwest Arkansas, Rogers Public Schools currently lists May 22, 2026 as the final day of the fourth quarter and the last day for students.
Cabot Public Schools is also scheduled to conclude the school year on May 28, 2026, according to a district calendar release published earlier this year.
The review found Marked Tree School District planning a later conclusion, with the district announcing May 29, 2026 as the last day of school for students.
In Little Rock, Arkansas Math and Science School lists May 20, 2026 as the last day of school, with additional inclement weather make-up days built into the calendar afterward if necessary.
The Arkansas Department of Education also maintains a statewide database showing first and last school days for districts across the state. The statewide listing shows many Arkansas districts ending in late May or early June, depending on local calendar decisions.
Additional districts reviewed — including Fayetteville Public Schools, Texarkana Arkansas School District, Little Rock School District, Siloam Springs School District and Jonesboro Public Schools — have approved 2025-26 calendars posted online, though some search previews did not clearly display final student dates.
Arkansas school calendars can change because of weather-related closures, make-up days or future school board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Arkansas school district.
