MISSISSIPPI — Some Mississippi public school students are wrapping up the 2025-26 school year this week, with official calendars showing final student days on Thursday, May 28.
Lowndes County School District lists Thursday, May 28, 2026 as “Students’ Last Day” on its district calendar. The calendar also lists Friday, May 29 as “Teachers’ Last Day.”
Lauderdale County School District lists Thursday, May 28, 2026 as “Early Dismissal (Last Day for Students)” from 8 to 11:30 a.m. The district calendar lists May 29 as the last day for teachers.
The calendars mean students in those Mississippi districts will begin summer break after classes conclude Thursday, while staff members continue with end-of-year duties Friday.
