INDIANA — A review of available 2025-26 Indiana public school calendars shows many districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes during May 2026, although some systems continue into early June because of weather make-up days or balanced calendars.
Among the earliest May ending dates found was May 21, 2026, listed by Indianapolis Public Schools as the final day for students.
Several Marion County districts are also scheduled to finish on May 21, including MSD Decatur Township, MSD Pike Township, MSD Washington Township and the Town of Speedway Schools.
Other Indiana districts are scheduled to conclude classes on May 22, 2026. MSD Warren Township currently lists May 22 as the final student day, while Westfield Washington Schools notes Quarter 4 ending May 22.
The review also found MSD of Martinsville listing May 22, 2026 as the “Last Day for Students” on its district calendar.
Indiana virtual schools are following similar timelines. Indiana Digital Learning School lists May 22, 2026 as “Rock It Day / Last Day for Students.”
Several districts plan to continue later into May. MSD Lawrence Township currently lists May 27, 2026 as the final student day.
In central Indiana, Perry Township Schools is scheduled to conclude classes on May 28, 2026.
A number of Indiana districts are currently scheduled to end on May 29, 2026. These include Beech Grove Community Schools, Franklin Township Schools, Tri-Creek School Corporation and Anderson Community Schools, which operates on a balanced calendar.
Not all Indiana districts finish during May, however. MSD Wayne Township currently lists June 3, 2026 as the final day for students in grades prekindergarten through 11.
The review also found examples of districts adjusting calendars because of snow days. Marion Community Schools announced make-up day changes that shifted the final student day to May 22, 2026 after winter weather closures.
Indiana school calendars can change because of weather-related closures, make-up days or future school board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Indiana school district.
