GEORGIA — A review of available 2025-26 Georgia public school calendars shows many districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes during May 2026, with several ending before Memorial Day.

Among the earliest May ending dates found was May 20, 2026, listed by Colquitt County Schools as the final day of school for students. The district calendar shows post-planning days beginning May 21.

Cobb County School District is also scheduled to conclude classes on May 20, 2026, according to the district’s published year-at-a-glance calendar.

In the Columbus area, Muscogee County School District lists May 21, 2026 as the last day of school for all students, with report cards issued for elementary schools the same day.

Several Georgia districts plan to finish on May 22, 2026. Atlanta Public Schools lists May 22 as the official last day of school, with multiple high school graduation ceremonies scheduled during the same week.

Coweta County School System also scheduled May 22, 2026 as the final student day.

In metro Atlanta, Clayton County Public Schools lists May 22, 2026 as the last day of school, followed by post-planning days the next week.

South Georgia’s Bulloch County Schools also plans to conclude classes on May 22, 2026, according to the district’s approved calendar.

Several other districts are currently scheduled to end later in May. DeKalb County School District lists the end of the second semester on May 28, 2026, with post-planning immediately afterward.

The review also found calendar postings for districts including Hall County Schools, Walton County School District, Jackson County School System, Cook County Schools and Fulton County Schools, although some search previews did not clearly display the final student day.

Many Georgia districts use early August start dates, allowing students to complete the academic year before or near Memorial Day. District calendars can still change because of weather-related make-up days or future board revisions.

This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Georgia school district.
