
OHIO — Police are investigating after an employee at a Youngstown cell phone store reported being tied up and robbed at gunpoint Monday evening.
According to police reports, officers were called around 7:10 p.m. to Total Wireless on Mahoning Avenue on the city’s West Side.
The employee told officers that a man entered the store, looked around and then pulled out a gun before forcing him into a back room.
Reports said the employee was tied up using a necktie and other clothing items.
Police said the robber stole the employee’s car keys, about 30 cell phones and cash before fleeing in the employee’s vehicle.
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect. Reports also did not explain how the employee freed himself and contacted police.
The robbery remains under investigation.
