LOUISIANA — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an unclassified death after a body was discovered in the Lake Vista area Friday afternoon.
According to police, officers responded to the 8000 block of Lakeshore Drive around 1 p.m. after receiving a report of a body found in the lake.
Authorities said the victim has not yet been identified. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the person’s identity after family members have been notified.
The cause of death has not been determined. Officials said an autopsy will be conducted, and the Coroner’s Office will announce the cause of death once that process is complete.
No additional information has been released.
