ILLINOIS — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area in South Beloit on Tuesday.
According to a news release from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, the discovery was reported around 11:20 a.m. in a wooded area off the roadway in the 700 block of Dearborn Avenue.
The sheriff’s office said there was no immediate indication of suspicious activity. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office is expected to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Officials have not released the identity of the deceased.
No additional information was available as of Monday afternoon.
