FLORIDA — Police are investigating after a man’s body was found in shallow water near the Melbourne Causeway on Tuesday morning.
According to the Melbourne Police Department, officers responded to the area along the north side of the causeway just after 8 a.m. on April 14. The man was discovered in the Intracoastal Waterway near a barrier wall.
Authorities also located a campsite along the riverbank west of where the body was found.
Police said the man has been identified, but his name and age have not yet been released as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
