TEXAS — Authorities are investigating after a Houston man was found dead Thursday morning along U.S. Highway 59 in Montgomery County.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a 911 call around 7:20 a.m. reporting a possible deceased person in a ditch near the 15700 block of the highway.
Splendora police officers responded and discovered the body of 38-year-old Gary Dynell Belvin of Houston.
Investigators said Belvin appeared to have injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators are leading the investigation. Belvin’s body was taken to the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
