
NORTH CAROLINA — An Elizabethtown man was arrested on drug and weapon charges after a traffic stop for speeding, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Amariah Cameron Murchison on May 21 near the Paul R. Brown Military Leadership School and Martin Luther King Drive in Elizabethtown.
During the stop, deputies searched the vehicle and reportedly discovered a large quantity of narcotics along with a firearm.
Murchison was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances, manufacturing a Schedule VI controlled substance, and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was booked into custody and given a $30,000 secured bond.
No additional information about the investigation was immediately released.
