
LOUISIANA — A Welsh man was arrested following a narcotics investigation that resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, crack cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia, according to the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Larry T. Simien, 31, after a sting operation conducted at a residence in Welsh on June 2.
Authorities said the investigation led to the recovery of approximately $1,366 in cash, 5 ounces of methamphetamine, 1 ounce of pink fentanyl, 15 grams of marijuana, 2 grams of crack cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia.
According to investigators, Simien allegedly threw illegal narcotics from his vehicle before coming to a stop in an attempt to prevent deputies from recovering the items.
Simien was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, possession of crack cocaine, obstruction of justice, possession of proceeds from drug transactions and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail. Bond information was not immediately available.
The investigation remains ongoing.
