
MISSISSIPPI — More than 15,000 customers across Mississippi are without electricity Saturday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 15,450 homes and businesses statewide are currently without power, affecting about 1.03% of the 1.49 million customers tracked across Mississippi. The outage tracker reports Mississippi currently has the highest number of power outages in the nation and ranks first for the percentage of customers affected.
Lincoln County has the largest number of outages in the state, with 2,445 customers currently without power.
Adams County follows with 1,748 outages, while Jackson County reports 1,588 customers without electricity. Other heavily affected counties include Walthall County with 1,233 outages, Hinds County with 1,168 and Pike County with 1,075.
Among utility providers, Magnolia Electric Power reports the largest number of outages, with 5,220 customers currently affected. Southwest Mississippi EPA reports 2,495 outages, while Entergy reports 3,228 customers without power.
