ILLINOIS — A 19-year-old man was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting early Saturday morning in Chicago’s West Lawn neighborhood, according to police.
The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the 4000 block of West 69th Street on the city’s Southwest Side, Chicago police said.
Investigators said the victim was standing outside when someone shot him multiple times in the lower back. Police believe the shooter may have been inside a vehicle at the time of the attack.
The man was taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
Area One detectives are investigating. Authorities have not released additional information about the shooting, and no arrests have been announced.
