FLORIDA — A Florida Lottery player is celebrating after purchasing a Powerball ticket worth $150,000 in Monday night’s drawing, which featured an estimated jackpot of $225 million.
The winning numbers drawn on June 8 were 3, 24, 34, 43 and 49, with Powerball 20. The Power Play multiplier was 3x. At the time of the drawing, the jackpot carried an estimated annuity value of $225 million and a cash option of approximately $100.4 million.
The Florida-winning ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball. That combination typically awards a $50,000 prize, but the addition of the 3x Power Play increased the payout to $150,000.
No jackpot-winning ticket was immediately reported, allowing the grand prize to continue growing for the next drawing. Information regarding where in Florida the winning ticket was sold and whether it has been claimed was not immediately available.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Players select five numbers from a pool of 69 white balls and one Powerball number from a pool of 26 red balls. Players who purchase the Power Play option can multiply non-jackpot prizes when a Power Play multiplier is drawn.
Lottery officials encourage all players to carefully check their tickets and sign the back of any winning ticket before claiming a prize.
The next Powerball drawing will offer an even larger jackpot as the game continues without a grand-prize winner.
