Wisconsin resident dead after being struck by vehicle in Ohio

OHIO — A Wisconsin man was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a motorcycle and a truck while attempting to cross a roadway in Erie County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on Milan Road near Fox Road in Huron Township, south of Sandusky.

Troopers said Richard Hartnell, 56, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, was attempting to walk across Milan Road when he was struck by a northbound motorcycle. After the initial collision, Hartnell was then struck by a truck.

Hartnell suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcycle rider, a 66-year-old man from Fremont, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The truck driver, a 35-year-old man from Norwalk, was not injured.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
