FLORIDA — A 33-year-old man wanted on multiple felony charges was arrested after deputies found him hiding inside an air conditioner’s air handler, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said James Myers was taken into custody on an active felony warrant that included charges of grand theft and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
Authorities also arrested 36-year-old Joann Rosario, who was charged with obstruction of justice after investigators said she helped Myers evade deputies.
According to deputies, the warrant for Myers stemmed from previous charges that included grand theft, fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, super-speeding and resisting law enforcement.
Investigators said the arrest followed an earlier encounter in March when Myers was apprehended with the assistance of a K-9 unit after an incident involving a stolen truck and a ditch.
When deputies located Myers during the latest search, they said he was hiding inside an air conditioner’s air handler. Rosario was reportedly found hiding in a closet.
Authorities allege Rosario assisted Myers in avoiding arrest, leading to the obstruction charge.
Myers was taken into custody without further incident. Information regarding his bond or court appearance was not immediately released.
The case remains under investigation.
