Two students injured following school bus crash in Ohio

OHIO — More than 50 students were on board a local school bus involved in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Perkins Avenue near Bayview Lane. Troopers said two students on the Perkins Local School bus sustained minor injuries and were transported by ambulance for treatment.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a Ram 1500, driven by a 40-year-old man from Huron, struck the rear of the bus as it was slowing for traffic ahead. The impact caused the bus to collide with the back of a Buick Encore, which was then pushed into another vehicle, resulting in a chain-reaction crash.

The driver of the Ram 1500 was also transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
