ALABAMA — State and local authorities are investigating after two people were found dead Wednesday afternoon in a wooded area in Chambers County.
According to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to County Road 86 around 12:20 p.m. on June 10 after receiving a report about a vehicle parked on the roadway.
When deputies arrived, they searched the area near the vehicle and found two deceased individuals, identified only as a male and a female.
Officials said the bodies have been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsies to determine the exact causes of death.
Agents with the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation and the Chambers County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.
Authorities said the names of the two people are not being released pending identification and notification of next of kin.
