
FLORIDA — Two people were killed after a car collided with a Brightline train Sunday afternoon in West Palm Beach, police said.
According to West Palm Beach police, the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Roseland Drive.
Investigators said the vehicle drove into the side of a passing Brightline train. Police said two people were ejected from the car during the collision and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said crossing gate arms were down at the time of the crash, indicating the railroad crossing was active when the vehicle entered the tracks.
Police also said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The identities of the victims have not been released. Officials said investigators are continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
