
TEXAS — Two people were arrested following a narcotics investigation and pursuit in north Abilene, according to police.
The Abilene Police Department said narcotics agents, assisted by patrol officers, conducted a traffic stop on May 14 targeting a suspected drug dealer. Authorities said the suspects fled, leading officers on a short vehicle chase followed by a foot pursuit.
Both suspects were taken into custody a short distance from the vehicle.
Police identified one suspect as 28-year-old Dakotah Guerrero. He is charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance involving methamphetamine, a first-degree felony. Guerrero also faces charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, evading arrest on foot and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Police said bonds on the charges total tens of thousands of dollars.
The second suspect, identified as 25-year-old Cielo Gonzalez, is charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance involving both methamphetamine and fentanyl, both first-degree felonies. Gonzalez also faces charges of tampering with evidence and evading arrest on foot.
According to police, officers seized approximately 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine, about one ounce of fentanyl, scales, packaging materials and a handgun during the arrests.
The investigation remains ongoing.
