OHIO — Two Urbana residents were arrested Friday night after a traffic stop in Logan County led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl, according to authorities.

Washington Township Police conducted the stop around 8:40 p.m. on State Route 708 at U.S. Route 33 for a traffic light violation.

Police identified the driver as 60-year-old Charles Miller of Urbana. The passenger was identified as 65-year-old Annette Keller, also of Urbana.

According to investigators, officers observed several signs of possible drug use while speaking with the pair.

Authorities said Miller consented to a search of his person, during which officers allegedly found a clear plastic bag containing fentanyl in his pocket. Police said Miller also admitted there was additional fentanyl inside his wallet.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was later conducted, and officers reported finding a blue tin containing fentanyl near Keller’s belongings.

Miller and Keller were both arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.

Each was charged with possession of drugs.
