
OHIO — A Cincinnati man and his nephew from Fairfield are facing federal drug charges after authorities allegedly discovered large amounts of suspected cocaine, cash and firearms during an investigation into drug trafficking activities across southwest Ohio.
Damian Galan, 31, and Diego Galan, 19, have each been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace, the investigation was conducted by Cincinnati Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Cincinnati Homeland Security Task Force.
Investigators said the two men traveled to a hotel in Columbus on May 9, where they were observed picking up four 17-gallon storage containers before driving them to Diego Galan’s home in Fairfield.
Authorities later executed search warrants at both men’s residences. At Diego Galan’s home, investigators said they recovered the storage containers, which allegedly held approximately 77 kilograms of suspected cocaine. Officers also reported finding cash, firearms and suspected methamphetamine at the residence.
At Damian Galan’s home, authorities said they located an additional four kilograms of suspected cocaine and a firearm.
Both men were arrested Sunday.
If convicted, the charges carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison.
