OHIO — Two people were arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in Meigs County, according to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office.
Annetta Lambert and Kevin Roush were taken into custody Friday evening after deputies executed a search warrant at an apartment on North Second Avenue in Middleport. The search was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug activity.
Deputies said that upon entering the residence, a woman ran into a room where a large bag of suspected fentanyl was allegedly being tampered with in what authorities described as an attempt to conceal it.
Several individuals inside the apartment were detained, and deputies said five juveniles were also present at the time. Child Protective Services was contacted.
During the search, deputies reported finding a large bag of suspected methamphetamine, as well as additional suspected methamphetamine in Roush’s possession.
Lambert and Roush were both charged with possession of drugs. Lambert also faces additional charges of trafficking in drugs and tampering with evidence.
Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch addressed the arrests in a statement, condemning drug activity involving children and warning that authorities will continue to pursue those involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
