GEORGIA — Two people were arrested on drug charges after a five-month investigation into suspected drug activity in the Kellum Valley community, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Rick Kelley said the investigation began after the sheriff’s office received multiple complaints from residents regarding alleged drug activity in the area.
Following what officials described as an extensive investigation, deputies executed a search warrant June 3 at a residence on Hazel Nut Drive in Cleveland.
Authorities arrested Michael Kelly Small, 60, of Cleveland, at the residence. He was charged with two counts of sale of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object.
Kimberly Workman, 26, of Gillsville, was also taken into custody during the search. She faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object. Investigators said Workman also had outstanding warrants from Hall and Dawson counties.
Both were transported to the White County Jail.
The White County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing and is encouraging anyone with information about suspected drug activity to contact the agency.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
