GEORGIA — Two Lawrenceville men were arrested Tuesday after authorities tracked a stolen vehicle from Washington County to Eatonton, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the investigation began before noon after a vehicle was reported stolen from a Dollar General in Davisboro.

According to authorities, 35-year-old Trabian Pass entered the stolen vehicle and fled the area.

Davidsboro police officers and sheriff’s deputies used computer tracking technology to locate the vehicle in Eatonton, officials said.

Eatonton police later found the vehicle, but investigators said the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit.

Authorities said the chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a wooded area. Pass then attempted to run away on foot but was quickly taken into custody, deputies said.

A second suspect, identified as 30-year-old Randy Urrutia-Pena of Lawrenceville, was also arrested in connection with the case.

Both men were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

Investigators later determined the suspects were allegedly attempting to carry out a prison contraband drop, according to the sheriff’s office.

Additional charges include conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of items prohibited for inmates and trading with inmates involving tobacco products and cell phones.

The investigation remains ongoing.
