OHIO — A mother and father have been arrested after their 8-month-old child overdosed on fentanyl, according to the Dayton Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to a home on Redwood Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of an unresponsive person. When police arrived, they found the infant unresponsive.
The child was transported to a hospital, where medical staff determined the infant was suffering from a fentanyl overdose, police said. The child is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
During the investigation, the child’s father reportedly refused to exit the home and was later taken into custody by SWAT officers Thursday morning.
Both parents have been arrested on suspicion of endangering children.
The investigation remains ongoing.
