PENNSYLVANIA — Three people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after a high-speed motorcycle crash involving a BMW in Huntingdon Borough, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Investigators said the crash happened just after 2 p.m. on Penn Street at the intersection with 7th Street in Huntingdon County.
State police said a 23-year-old man was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a 23-year-old woman as a passenger when the motorcycle approached the intersection at a high rate of speed.
At the same time, police said a BMW driven by a 59-year-old man was turning from 7th Street onto Penn Street. Troopers said the motorcycle was unable to avoid the SUV because of its excessive speed and struck the rear driver’s side of the BMW.
The motorcycle driver and passenger were taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with suspected serious injuries, according to police.
The driver of the BMW was transported to Penn Highlands Huntingdon with suspected minor injuries.
Pennsylvania State Police said charges against the motorcycle driver are pending the outcome of the investigation.
