ARIZONA — Three people were killed and nine others injured following a crash involving a passenger van in southern Arizona Thursday night, according to authorities.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred around 9 p.m. along southbound U.S. 191 in Pearce. A van carrying 12 people was involved in the incident.
Officials reported that three individuals were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Five others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Four additional victims were airlifted to hospitals in Tucson. Of those, two were listed in critical condition and two were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have not yet released details on what caused the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
