TEXAS — Three people were arrested following a proactive enforcement operation by the Austin Police Department that led to a significant methamphetamine bust, according to officials.
Police said the operation took place Monday and was initiated in response to ongoing complaints from residents near a home in the 1400 block of Broadmoor Drive. The complaints involved suspected narcotics activity, firearms, trespassing, burglary and other criminal behavior.
One suspect, identified as Lakeshia Robertson, was detained after leaving the residence for a city ordinance violation.
Officers later discovered she had an active warrant out of Travis County for unlawful possession of a controlled substance. During a search at the jail, police said they found approximately three grams of methamphetamine on her. Robertson was charged with the warrant and possession of a controlled substance.
A second suspect, Jonathan Green, was stopped for a traffic violation. Police said he allegedly discarded a bag containing about 14 grams of methamphetamine as officers approached. He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
Officers later executed a search warrant at the home and arrested a third suspect, Logan Sides. Police said Sides was wanted in connection to a bicycle theft case and had prior convictions. During the search, officers seized about 131 grams, or 4.6 ounces, of methamphetamine from the residence. Sides was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and are encouraging anyone with information about criminal activity to contact Capital Area Crime Stoppers.
