Three people arrested following large fentanyl bust in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — Three people are facing felony charges following a major drug bust in Northeast Philadelphia that authorities say disrupted a statewide fentanyl trafficking operation.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office announced Friday that Johan Manuel Almonte-Ortiz, 26, Argedys Noel De La Cruz Jerez, 33, and Domingo Cedeno-Pimentel, 37, were arrested and charged with felony drug trafficking, conspiracy and related offenses.

According to investigators, authorities seized five kilograms of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $2 million.

Law enforcement officers served warrants earlier this week at homes on Montague Street and Wellington Street, where officials said they discovered an active drug packaging operation.

Authorities said the investigation led to the shutdown of what they described as a statewide trafficking pipeline.

No additional details about the investigation or the suspects’ court appearances were immediately released.
