
VIRGINIA — More than 7,100 customers across Virginia are without electricity Thursday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 7,111 customers statewide are currently without power out of more than 4 million tracked customers in Virginia.
Fauquier County has the highest number of outages in the state, with 3,197 customers affected, representing nearly 9% of tracked customers in the county. Amherst County reported 1,080 outages, while Charlotte County had 434 customers without electricity.
Other counties reporting outages include Prince William County with 274 outages, Campbell County with 257 outages, Russell County with 190 outages, Prince Edward County with 178 outages and Scott County with 130 outages.
Dominion Energy reported the largest number of outages among utilities in Virginia, with 4,625 customers currently without service. Appalachian Power Company reported 2,186 outages statewide.
Virginia currently ranks second in the nation for the total number of power outages and fourth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected, according to PowerOutage.us.
Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts Thursday morning.
