
TEXAS — More than 3,200 customers across Texas are without electricity Friday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
The outage tracking service reported 3,233 homes and businesses currently without power statewide. The outages affect a small percentage of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked across Texas.
Harris County has the highest number of outages in the state, with 583 customers affected. Travis County, which includes Austin, reports 457 outages, while Bexar County has 320 customers without electricity. Fort Bend County is reporting 225 outages, and Dallas County has 115.
Among utility providers, CenterPoint Energy reports the largest number of outages with 819 customers affected. Oncor reports 642 outages, followed by Austin Energy with 448 and CPS Energy with 320.
PowerOutage.us said Texas currently ranks fifth in the nation for the number of active outages.
Crews across the state continue working to restore service Friday morning. No widespread cause for the outages was immediately identified.
