
TEXAS — More than 8,600 homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity Monday morning, according to statewide outage tracking data.
PowerOutage.us reported 8,675 customers without power statewide as of Monday morning out of more than 15.6 million tracked customers.
Bexar County had the highest number of outages in the state with 3,997 customers affected, followed by Montgomery County with 971 outages and Harris County with 671. Other counties reporting notable outages included Franklin County with 435 customers without power, Rusk County with 351 and Tarrant County with 350.
CPS Energy reported the largest number of outages among utility providers with 3,997 customers without electricity. CenterPoint Energy reported 1,626 outages, while Oncor listed 1,286 customers without power.
PowerOutage.us said Texas currently ranks third in the nation for the total number of outages and 16th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report them directly to their electric provider and use caution around downed power lines.
