
TEXAS — More than 22,000 homes and businesses across Texas are currently without power Thursday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 22,286 customers are experiencing outages statewide out of more than 15.6 million tracked customers, representing about 0.14% of the state.
Harris County is the hardest-hit area, with 15,218 customers currently without electricity. Williamson County follows with 4,675 outages. Other counties reporting outages include Tarrant County with 347 customers affected, Montgomery County with 182 and Dallas County with 178.
By utility provider, CenterPoint Energy reports the highest number of outages, with 15,607 customers currently without power. Oncor reports 5,555 outages, while smaller numbers are reported by American Electric Power Texas, Southwestern Electric Power Company and Entergy.
Officials note that Texas currently has the highest number of power outages in the United States, though the overall percentage of customers affected remains relatively low.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, but no estimated time for full service restoration has been provided.
