Thousands without power in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — More than 10,000 homes and businesses across Pennsylvania are currently without power Thursday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 10,674 customers are without electricity statewide out of more than 6.7 million tracked customers, representing about 0.16% of the state.

Susquehanna County is reporting the highest number of outages, with 2,524 customers currently without power. Wayne County follows with 1,735 outages, while Lycoming County has 944. Other counties with notable outages include Lackawanna County with 539 and Bradford County with 527.

By utility provider, FirstEnergy reports the largest number of outages, with 5,474 customers affected. PPL Electric Utilities has 2,510 outages, while PECO Energy Company reports 1,292. Smaller utilities, including Sullivan County Rural Electric Cooperative, are also experiencing outages, with some areas seeing higher percentages of customers impacted.

Pennsylvania currently has the third-highest number of outages in the United States.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, though no estimated timeline has been provided.
