Thousands without power in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — More than 5,100 customers across Pennsylvania are without power Saturday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 5,132 homes and businesses in the state are currently affected by outages. Pennsylvania ranks fourth in the nation for the total number of outages and ninth nationwide for the percentage of customers impacted.

Greene County is reporting the largest concentration of outages in the state, with 4,634 customers currently without electricity. That represents more than 24% of tracked customers in the county, making it the hardest-hit area in Pennsylvania.

Other counties reporting outages include Allegheny County with 334 customers affected, Chester County with 96, Montgomery County with 20 and Monroe County with 19.

Among utility providers, FirstEnergy reports the highest number of outages statewide, with 4,638 customers currently without power. Duquesne Light Company reports 334 outages, while PECO Energy Company has 123 affected customers.

PowerOutage.us said more than 6.7 million customers are tracked across Pennsylvania as utility crews continue working to restore service in affected areas.
